From melodic hooks to the sexy vocals the artist simply known as KD is destined to become one of the hottest R&B artist to hit the music scene in the a long time.



Kevin "KD" Dawson was born in the small town of Thomasville, Georgia and is the oldest of three children. Music has always been a part of his life. Weather singing in the church choir or sneaking to listen to his mothers albums, KD found the beats and hooks of artist such as Rick James, New Edition, Al Green, and Michael Jackson influential to him. There werent too many entertainers coming from Thomasville, so KD found it very challenging to follow his dream of becoming an R&B sensation then. Upon moving to San Diego, California he began to enter local talent shows to test his ability to take over the audience. At this time the constant change in music from Gansta music to Hip Hop club music he found it challenging for himself. There seem to be a lack of R&B singers. After several attempts in California, KD felt that there wasnt a chance for him. He moved to Tallahassee, Florida and after being there a while he meet up with Trigga Man from the southern based group Splack Pack ,And Mike Colsen of MG Productions while working with them on various projects, KD laid the hit song Secrets which was then givin to DJ-KOOL ANT, who broke the song at a local radio station. This single was number 1 for four weeks on the local circuit and one of the most requested in his hometown. By this meager radio play, KD met up with James "Suave" Burke of Wilderness Entertainment. Under the umbrella of Suave and Wilderness KD composed a collection of his life experiences into a complete album called My Life, My Story. Due to company setbacks, KD was released from his contract with Wilderness Entertainment.SO Then kd started his own label GawgaBoyEntertainment! in which his new CD project GROWN A$$ MAN as well as other projects are all due in 2009 KD is following in the footsteps of such old school artist Marvin Gaye and Teddy Pendergrass and modern artist like Babyface and R. Kelly. KD is destine to become a musical force in this industry.
