Katy is a London based Singer and topline writer who is & has been working with some great dance producers including Granite & Phunk, Angel Anx & DJ Aleksji, Carl Ryden (Tyken/Poker Pets), Mark Yardley (Stanton Warriors), David James (Hed Kandi), DJ Paulo Jackson, Nicole Jenkinson, Groove Invaderz, PFM, Kinky Rowland, Macca D (Pam's House). Katy has tracks out on & has worked with Toolroom Records, Big Mouth Productions, 51st Recordings, Ultra Vinyl, NBD Recordings & Good Looking Records. Cuts have been featured on Warner's 'Chemical Generation' comp and Boy George's 'Trust The DJ' mix comp. With more exciting collaborations on the way, watch this space!
Katy has performed at various venues including Fiction @ The Cross (check out the review in my pics), Ruby @ Canvas, Pop, The Jazz Cafe, The Gardening Club, UEA and the MEFFYs award ceremony in Monaco, to name a few. She also does session work & backing vocals for various producers including Matti Schwartz (Deepest Blue/Dada)
As well as her dance side she also writes & performs acoustic, funk & pop tracks (check out www.myspace.com/katysamwell) with 'Alaska Street'. She also writes/produces other artists as part of a production team with Joe Fields who's credits include Duran Duran, Sway, Lemar, Amy MacDonald, Kano & Jamelia. Full info on the other myspace.
