Kat Davidson discovered folk as Folkworks brought a tour of young musicians to her school when she was 16. Having attended Summer Schools, she then went on to the Folk & Traditional Music Degree and now works for Folkworks teaching, developing and managing the education team as well progressing her own musical activity

In duo with Dan Walsh, or in a capella quartet Beckleberry, Kat's voice is strong and pure. Her empathy and story telling (seen in her own song writing) complement her tone and grace.

Hailing from rural Northumberland, and now based in Newcastle, Kat is very firmly grounded in Northumbrain song. She has a love of mining songs and songs for dancing as well as expanding out of regional repertoire.

In Beckleberry Kat enjoys creating four part harmony and singing a healthy mixture of traditional and contemporary material.

An experienced workshop leader, Kat teaches Advanced Vocal Skills for The Sage Gateshead as well as being voice tutor at Folkworks Adult Summer School 2010. Her experience leads her from -5 to +85 in age! and she is as sought after as a 1:1 voice teacher as she is for her group and choir workshops.

Both of Kat's outfits are gaining national acclaim and she is recording her first solo album in November 2010.
