Katell Keineg

Katell Keineg was born in Brittany and was brought up both there and in Wales. She's also spent time in New York and Ireland, building her reputation for "conveying a nearly beatific sense of joy in performance" (Los Angeles Times). She released her first two albums on Elektra and her latest was released earlier this year. Her live work has included singing with Jeff Buckley, Allen Ginsberg and Calexico. Her new album "At The Mermaid Parade" was released on Honest Jon's Records this spring and received rave reviews including 'CD of The Week' from the Sunday Times: "Vocals that alternately soar and crack, lyrics both allusive and direct, rough-hewn, carefree, ramshackle folk arrangements that dance with abandon and are resolutely uncontainable.
