Karmyn's Cover Tune Album is all genres of music From Summertime to Wait and See .big band, swing, jazz, smooth jazz, blues, torch music, and adult contemporary.

Karmyn's acting and musical background is the foundation of her ability to transport you from the seduction of moonlight to the heated swing of a Saturday night. This album shows her versatility and vocal range as she pours her heart and soul into this project.

With special training in classical and musical theatre, Karmyn sings all styles of music from opera to country and anything in between. Living in Texas, Karmyn traces her roots to country gospel and singing in church when she was 6 years old and attending gospel concerts of the Stamps Quartet. Her parents exposed her to all styles of music which gave her a deep love for Big Band having listened to Lawrence Welk and other bands at a young age. Her training in classical music gave her a love for opera music and she performed an aria from Turandot for her competition at Miss America as Miss Louisiana. Musical theatre and her strong desire at 6 years old to be a Broadway entertainer gives the description of her love of Broadway music. With strong family ties to Louisiana and New Orleans, Karmyn's love for jazz was a normal progression.

William E. Johnson from Dallas Texas, wanted to showcase the vocal talents of Karmyn Tyler and produced an album of cover tunes from the 1930's and 40's.the music his mother played. He succeeded in every way while using the soft, sultry, yet powerful voice of an angel. His unending support of Karmyn and her talent showed in the showcase of the CD release in her home town of Texarkana at the Perot Theatre with over 1200 people in attendance. With professional dancers from Dallas and sets professionally designed, it was more like a Broadway show that showcased Karmyn's talent! The Big Time number included a 10 foot sign flashing "KARMYN" that dropped down as she sang "my name above the tile" while revealing a 1930's vintage dress with a large diamond like necklace! Very breathtaking!

Karmyn Tyler: The luxurious voice with truthful emotions.

Ms. Tyler is one of the most delightful finds of 2006. This woman can sing like a dream. A sweet, luxurious voice blended with elegance, truthful emotions and vocal beauty. Ms. Tyler is a former Miss Louisiana and talent winner at Miss America and has judged numerous state and national pageants and was on the judges panel that selected Miss Texas Outstanding Teen who went on to win the first Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.

Karmyn Tyler: A sparkling diva in the making. A world-class singer!

Karmyn's kindergarten teacher recognized Karmyn's angelic voice as something special when she sang in a Christmas play. At age eight, Karmyn told her mom that she wanted to be a professional singer and actress on Broadway. She would sing at any social function and her cliché was "I'm cute, I can sing on pitch and I'm free". Karmyn won her first national pageant title and talent award at age 11 as Miss Texas National Pre-Teen. At 19, she entered the Miss Louisiana Pageant and won a preliminary swimsuit and talent award as well as the title of Miss Louisiana. She represented Louisiana at Miss America 1996 and won a Bert Parks Talent Award. Karmyn's acting and musical background is the foundation of her ability to transport you from the seduction of moonlight to the heated swing of a Saturday night. Karmyn’s album entitled Karmyn Tyler shows her versatility and vocal range as she pours her heart and soul into this project and is all genres of music. From Summertime to Wait and See…big band, swing, smooth jazz, torch music and adult contemporary. She is a professional actress/singer and has done numerous regional and national commercials and co-starred in the movie Alabama Love Story with country music artist Mark Colley and in the TV Lifetime Movie Inspector Mom with Danica McKellar from the Wonder Years. Karmyn appeared on Walker, Texas Ranger and Just Shoot Me and Ed McMahon’s Star Search. She has several theatre performances to her credit and was Guenivere in Camelot and Sister Mary Leo in Nunsense.

Karmyn has recently been cast in a Stephen Sondheim musical production at the Strand Theatre in Shreveport, Louisiana. She is a member of Actors Equity (AEA), Hollywood chapter of Screen Actors Guild (SAG), National Academy of Arts and Science (The Grammys), National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and Lifetime member of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity and listed on IMDB. Karmyn has Fine Arts degrees in Music and Drama and a BAAS from Texas A&M. Karmyn currently travels as a professional vocalist and actor and recently signed with a Los Angeles agent.

Ms. Karmyn Tyler is listed in the World Who's Who in Jazz, Cabaret, Music and Entertainment.

Press quotes:

Bill Bauer from HB&B Music wrote: “From Opera to Linda Eder traces Karmyn’s feelings for music and reveals an extraordinary talent as a singer-personality. Her first professionally produced recorded album is a knockout CD! Not kidding! Old Standards and new Broadway pop with some hot new, up-dated and unique arrangements by Chris Meeks from TM Century. It’s “as good as it gets in the style,” better than Ronstadt’s “What’s New;” (though I may be prejudiced, it will bear out if you buy Karmyn’s CD) with outstanding vocal control, plus some truly unbelievable belt highlights!”

Karl H. Stober wrote in JazzReview.com: “Karmyn is an incredibly talented singer with a wide range and top notes that ring out clear as a bell. Karmyn has an exceptional voice and you will not want to miss this wonderfully talented singer and the arrangements of Chris Meeks on this awesome CD.

The songs Guilty, The Stars Will Remember So Will I, Make Believe and the medley of "I Fall In Love Too Easily and I'm in the Mood For Love" with the style of Rosemary Clooney, are love songs that will charm and captivate you. "Too Late Now" from the movie "Royal Wedding" will astound you with the jazz arrangement of this song! Finally the Dancing in the Dark/Night and Day Medley is unique as the first female I have heard do this song.”

Karmyn Tyler, her most recent CD, a rich blend of romance, vocal virtuosity and original improvisation. Two thumbs up!
