Kanga Roots was founded in 1997 by Lars Vegas, B-Dread und Dave in Hamburg/ Germany. Following the big Jamaican sounds of the 60s like Sir Coxsone Downbeat or Duke Reid, the Kanga Roots crew build their own sound with giant towers of speakers and amplifiers. When the sound was ready, the crew took all the equipment, load it into the truck, took some reggae records and start to play music and spread the Caribbean vibes in Hamburg city and vicintiy
In 1998 Lars Vegas also started to work as a tourpromoter. In the early days he promoted most of the well known UK dub-sounds like The Disciples, Rootsman and Iration Steppaz in Germany. Over the past 15 years Lars Vegas founded Reggae Clubs like Epicenta Club, Domino Club, Downtown Rockers, Treasure Isle Dancehall, Dancehall Xplosion and Jamaican Estate in Hamburg. In 2003 he start-up his first booking- & event-agency We Are Mafia with his long time companion "Smart" Hansen.
Today Lars Vegas (aka Kanga Roots) runs his own booking-agency Vegas Entertainment. In the past 10 years he was promoter and backing sound all across Europe and Middle East for artist like Perfect (JA), Jah Mason (JA), Lutan Fyah (JA), Shinehead (US), Chronicle (JA), Richie Spice (JA), Nosliw (GER), Ill Inspecta (GER), Ronni Trettmann (GER), Ranking Joe (US), U.Brown (JA), Action Fire (JA), Trilla Jenna (UK), General Levy (UK) and many many more.
Kanga Roots performed alongside sounds like Bass Odyssey (JA), Massive B. (US), David Rodigan (UK), Sentinel Sound (GER), Pow Pow Movement (GER), Supersonic Sound (GER), Soundquake Sound (DE), One Love Hi Pawa (ITA), Sound Trooper (JA), Freddie Krueger (JA), LP International (US), Goldrush International (SWI) and many more.
The booking-agency Vegas Entertainment is known as a reliable partner for tour-booking and tour-management in Europe and known as one of the top-a-top local promoters, responsible for a handful of big dancehall-events like the Euroclash between Pow Pow Movement and One Love Hi Pawa, took place 2002 in Hamburg.
