Kristopher Andrews is an unapologetic talent in a world of self made artists in today’s online communities. With an electro dance feel to the music that he creates and a legion of MySpace followers, Kristopher Andrews exuberant music scratches the itch in your soul that no one else’s sound can reach. In 2003 at La Habra High School in art class, Kristopher Andrews and Viera Vogue first met. The odd couple, with Kristopher Andrews being more of an Abercrombie and Fitch type while Viera Vogue leaned more towards the alternative scene, hit it off after realizing that their looks had nothing to do with what they were going to eventually create; music you can fuck to. Creating raps instead of paying attention in class, Kristopher Andrews, then known as Gaysta Status, and Viera Vogue, known as Ruby D., began writing raps about the one thing that they both were into; boys. After their valuable high school experience, they began hanging out everyday, eventually investing in a music software program that would help them expand their knowledge of music production. Self learners, they conceived their first track titled “Blow Up Dolls.” According to Kristopher Andrews, the track made no, absolutely no sense (“fuck us like we’re blow up dolls.”) Their second recording came to be as a queer cover of Crime Mob’s song “Stilettos (Pumps)” (Stilettos, pumps in the club, whoever thought that these faggots get crunked.) The inexperienced duo eventually recorded enough songs that they decided to release their first self titled album. By writing their own lyrics, producing their own beats, recording and mastering the songs on their own, they decided to take the show on the road and perform live. Their first performance took place as a showcase of rock bands, but being of the electro rap genre, they felt a little out of place. “The crowd at Hogue Barmichaels in Newport Beach seemed completely sold out,“ said Kristopher Andrews. “The crowd wasn’t one that we imagined to first perform for.” “It seemed like everyone in the venue appeared straight but our music tends to be more homoerotic,” remarked Kristopher Andrews. “We didn’t know how the crowd would react.” With jitters and diamond grills in their mouths they began to perform and the crowd enjoyed the sounds that the new comers had created. After they completed their set, the crowd begged for an encore. That is when Electrik Armie realized that they had a style that many people enjoy. “Everyone screamed during our set, we could barely hear each other performing,” said Kristopher Andrews. “It was amazing how everyone wanted to take a picture with us and to get our autographs,” exclaimed Viera Vogue. Kristopher Andrews has now set off on his on music adventure solo. With these show and other club performances, Kristopher Andrews is now set to hit the stage at many venues across the U.S. He not only wants to promote his new singles, but he is also out to stand up against injustices that plague the lesbian, gay and transgender community. With more than 30,000 friends on the online community and more than 400,000 plays on his music page Kristopher Andrews is ready to take over the world of electro glam.
