Being with Kahtmayan is not necessarily a matter of musical type, actually it has more to do with life. I'm basically a music lover who finds enjoyable music of any genre provided that it's fed with exquisite material of music, yet Kahtmayan is a different story.
There is an image within me carved out of particular experiences accumulated in my hometown and this is constantly recalling me. These experiences include all the memories, traditions, superstitions, beliefs and voices gradually forming the concept I get from them all. The image is always there deep inside my soul and it has now turned into an insight of who I am. In fact I've made an everlasting vow to be with Kahtmayan.

Throughout my life I have endured years of torment and agony. it led me to a shrine replete with dark energy and once I stepped inside, it felt like home, I've been quite familiar with this since my childhood and I have kept an astonishingly clear image of the darkness and the wails that reflect off the inside reminding me of all the moments and memories. the majority of the people keep away from darkness since they have a horror of the unknown but to me unknown is a source of power and peace. Kahtmayan is my eternal shrine.

By the time my trembling knees were crawling my path through the earth there were rackets flying above in the sky. The sound of explosions put me to sleep and by the red Cyrene I'd open my eyes to another omen day. So the music became my sanctuary.
To me, Kahtmayan is now more than a musical activity. It's a crossroad between the kind of "western music" that I like and my deep cultural roots.
