Born to a Jamaican-Panamanian mother and a Jamaican-Chinese father, Ka’hryn began her humble journey to stardom in Bronx, New York. She realized at age 12 what she wanted to do with her life and it came as no surprise that Ka’hryn followed her dreams immediately following high school. Grooming for this moment her entire life, Ka’hryn had been no stranger to the spotlight. As a classically trained dancer she began her training at the Harlem School of the Arts and later studied with the Atlanta Ballet. Since 2003, Ka’hryn has held seven (7) pageant titles including becoming the first African-American to attain both the titles of Miss Cities of America Teen (2003) and Miss Georgia American Coed (2008).
With the confidence of her crowns, Ka’hryn returned to Atlanta to pursue her dream of becoming a singer. She has coupled with indie label First Born Music and Entertainment. Today, Ka’hryn is finishing the recording of her debut album which will not only feature her vocal ability but showcase her talent as a songwriter. Ka’hryn brings her real life situations and relatable experiences to her writing. She fuses together Hip-Hop with her own Pop/Rock/R&B sounds. She will be branded by her signature catchy mainstream melodies that will attract a wide demographic. Ka’hryn will write or co-write every song on her debut album.
While finishing the recording of her debut album, Ka’hryn has begun to make her mark on radio, on the Internet, and among DJ’s across the country. With several radio stations across the south spinning her singles, and record pools from New York to Florida to Los Angeles giving positive feedback on her music, Ka’hryn is further inspired to making her goals of becoming a multi-faceted entertainer in music and films a reality.
Ka’hryn was selected as a model for The Vogue Collection Spring Fashion Show. She was also selected as a model AND performer for Atlanta's Hot 107.9 /Konvict Musik's Roc the Runway Valentine's Day fashion show. In addition to her runway/fashion accomplishments, Ka’hryn was recently photographed by well-respected industry photographer Ben Rose for her upcoming debut album.
Ka’hryn is a sensational live performer. She has been selected to perform at venues as far as Texas and Oregon. She incorporates her passion for music, her training in dance, and her natural acting ability to thrill audiences at every live show. As expected, Ka’hryn performs across metropolitan Atlanta. Ka’hryn has performed background vocals for R&B artist, Sammie. She has also performed as the opening act for some of music's major artists including the original dreamgirl Jennifer Holiday. She consistently represents for the ladies among all-male talent opening up for acts including Plies, J. Holiday, B.O.B., Hurricane Chris, Jibbs, Bohagun, Huey, Roy Jones Jr., The Alliance, Alfa Mega, J.R. and Bonecrusher.
With production from a variety of producers such as DJ Speedy (Jeezy, Goodie Mob, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland), Dreamlife Music (Lloyd, Jagged Edge, 112) and The ILL Genius (Chopper, Gotti), as well as engineering by Devine Evans (Mary J. Blige, B5), Ka’hryn is ready to bring her own signature style and flair to the music world. Her Pop/R&B double album Oasis/True Story is set for a fall release.
