BEARHEAD is currently recording a new record with producer/long time friend Andy Jackson (singer/ guitarist of Hot Rod Circuit/ Death in the Park). They have a goal to release the new record in late July 2011. This will go great with Pop Up Records July 2011 release of their HUM tribute compilation on which Bearhead covers Hum's classic song "Mrs. Lazarus". I am personally looking forward to this one (being the HUM cadet that all my friends know me to be). If you've heard their first self titled record "BEARHEAD" (released in 2009) then you know that these guys are the real deal. To put it simple Bearhead kicks your teeth in with a side of "oh my god, where is my spleen?" If I had to compare the sound of their first album to other bands then I'd have to say I can definitely hear some Sunny Day Real Estate and Metallica thrown in there with a hint of Fleetwood Mac. But somehow (despite their influences) the album comes across as a completely original piece of art. Bearhead has worked up quite a nice sized following in their home of Birmingham, AL. Let's just hope their new record brings the fire and lives up to the fans expectations. I haven't heard any of it yet, but from what the Bearhead boys are saying."IT'S GONNA ROCK YOUR FACE HARD!"
