Don’t Let the Mohawk and nasty tattoos fool ya Blue Mound, TX's 100 Proof likes to refer to himself as an MC who looks like Sid Vicious and sounds like Rakim. He’s best known as one of the stars fron Vh1’s the (white) rapper show, but Proof is much more then just the next reality show star. The self-described “half Johnny Cash, half John Blaze” likes – no, loves – to drink (if you haven’t already guessed by his moniker), so the wild times are never far behind when proof is around.



And now Mr. "Half Man / Half Liquor. One hell of a drunk." is fronting his new band The Hype. Once you see them in action even Chuck D. would forget the old cliché.

Bringing 80’s arena rock theatrics mixed with today’s X-treme generation anarchy, The Hype is on the verge or a new sound which is taking the country by storm. More of a mix between the Roots and Rancid then the old hybrid of “Rock Rap”, you just never know where The Hype is going to take you with their in your face sound and anthem worthy choruses.



In a time where every rapper wants “party like a rockstar” and every rockstar wants to be a rapper - we’ve finally found out why. The answer is 100 Proof and The Hype.
