Jurassic Blues

Jurassic Blues is one of the most unusual and wildest rock bands from Hamburg, Germany. And they have a very unusual hook too- they sing in Russian! (Actually, while the band has already existed for 10 years, they set the scene for most Russian speaking bands in Germany. Jurassic Blues was one of the very first ones!)

Throughout the band's history, it has shared the stage with Bi-2, Billy's Band, Krematorium, Alisa, the Farlanders and some of the other top bands from Russia.

The Jurassic Blues history starts in Autumn 1997, when the founding members Lotis, Schwarz and Perel (then - drums) first started to rehearse together. Shortly therefater they played the very first Jurassic gig on Christmas Party of '97.

It seemed to be quite successful because they had a sharp incline in the number of gigs. IN the Spring of '98, they already played on the Festival of St. Pauli (yes, that's right, the Beatles in the clubs next door in the 60-s)!

In those days the band changed its name every gig, until one day their band had been named "Jurassic Blues" by one of the organizers due to the raw blues based sound they had.

Under the eventually steady name the band started to record original material in their home studio. Songs like "Ty goworila" ("You've told"), "Pro pjanku" ("About the booze") written by Schwarz, and particulary "Dym" ("the Smoke") written by Lotis, became very popular among the growing fan community of the band thanks to air play.

The further songs has been recorded and released on different samples in Europe and Russia. One of them ,"Na kryshe" ("On the roof top"), became one of the stage favorites and crowd pleasers.

In august of 2005 the band recorded the album "Otrazhenija" ("Glimpses") in the hamburger "Sound Factory" studio with some additional guest musicians. The album found its good critics in the press and sells well. The band continues to record new songs and tours around Germany, Poland and Russia. A new album is planned to be issued in december2009/january 2010
