Jullie Kirstine Hjetland Jensen

BIO:

Singer/Composer / Performer/Dancer Jullie Hjetland (Born 1981 in Svendborg on the island of Funen) has been singing from early childhood.

Ever since she entered Saga Music Academy in Odense she has been on the road to becoming a professional singer.

She was given the Danish Music Award 2009 for her vocal performance on the album Kryss. And nominated to, “ Odense Live Talent 2010”.

Shes been living in Greenland, Norway, Sweden and Finland, and in 2008

she graduated with a bachelor from the folk music department at “Carl Nielsen Academy of Music” in Odense.

Besides here music studies shes been doing a lot of Dancing and acting on a high level.

Currently, Jullie is doing her Nordic Master of Folk Music (Odense, Stockholm, Helsinki

and Bergen) with here final examen spring 2011 she will graduate as a Nordic Master in folk music from Olle Bul concervatory in Norway.



Jullie masters Swedish, Danish and Norwegian, and she can easily adopt traditions from most of the northern countries. In 2009, she and the rest of “Nordens Tone”, gave out a cd where she sings in 7 different languages. Her compositions is a blend of jazz, folk and electronic.

Experimenting with her voice and improvising with out boarders of limitations seems to bee the brand for this young, but experienced singer.

Jullie is very active, and is a big part of the contemporary folk music scene as well as electronic and Jazz scenes. Among many active musicians she has been making concerts with Danish music legends Pierre Dørge, Irene Becker, Morten Carlsen, Marilyn Mazur and Benitta Haastrup.

She also has a solo project for electronic music, called “Lukkif”.

Lately she has been performing as a dancer and singer in a performance for contemporary dance.
