"The Rude Boys" are one of Boulder's Premiere Reggae bands, and play the FIRST WEDNESDAY of each month at ThE BoUlDeR DrAFt HoUsE's reggae night. 10pm start time. They've been playing together for nearly six years. They are an extremely tight outfit. Though they do perform more than a handful of original tunes, their sets consist of mostly rare gem covers of roots reggae and some ska. Led by front-man Jubal, the band has performed all over colorado. The Rude Boys also are the backbone of a few other local acts including The Bizung Family Band (http://Bizung.com), and haved back up Nicky Bomba from The John Butler Trio. (http://nickybomba.com)
*******Jubal has been writing and performing his own music for more than twenty years. He is a multi-instrumentalist with his forte being the guitar. Jubal is also an adept working bass player. He's been known to collaborates with other bands from time to time as a drummer. He sings powerful melody and precise harmony vocals of his own composed lyrics and, as well, performs tons 'o cover songs spanning many generations of artists from the 30's through the 21st century. *************
Depending upon the venue, Jubal can be seen playing solo acoustic shows, acoustic duo performances with John Beacher, rockin' roots reggae with "The Rude Boys," "The 2High Trio," an original composition ensemble, playing Bass with Mohammad Alidu Bizung's West African ensemble, "The Bizung Family Band," Bass with "Mikee T and The Peaceful Warriors," guitar with his blistering improv project "Lucid Alouishes," solo instrumental jazz performances, or performing his articulate looping performances in which he utilizes a Boomerang Digital Sampler to play bass, percussion, rhythm, and lead guitar. ************
Jubal's music, which is comprised of many genres including jazz, reggae, funk, and blues, is somewhat political, soulfully expressive, and often socially satirical; Hard to define. Jubal is a nationally published and award winning poet and author. He is published in several nationally released anthologies and has been or is presently a contributing writer for Weird Magazine, The Santa Fe Reporter, The Austin Paratimes News, and the Boulder based music magazine The Marquee. In 2007 Jubal wrote a composition for the Internationally released documentary "Beauty Mark." Jubal's passion for freedom of thought and expression is clearly audible in songs and lyrics that range from simple inspiring melodies to much more intricate and complicated compositions. http://www.cuezonerecords.com/jubal **************************
