With JATAS we are united, reminded of struggle, inspired to seek resolution and yet left content. upfull and bright. Dub-Rock of Soul music is born. J-san And The Analogue Sons have been making heads nod and bodies groove for over a decade. Imagine the lover's rock stylings of reggae legend Gregory Isaacs, the socially conscious world/rock of Michael Franti & Spearhead, the energy of Ozomatli and you may begin to understand the Word-Sound-Power that JATAS will take you to.
The son of a radical Vietnam veteran father and an Okinawan-native mother, J-san was raised on the road living at times with artists and musicians - and other times with ganja growers and hustlers. Through it all music was always a constant companion. J-san was an original member of EasyStar recording artists John Brown's Body, of whom he called his old friend Elliott Martin (JBB frontman) to record on the single "Walk Alone" from the group's 2009 release, One Sound. J-san was also a guest vocalist on the new 10 Ft. Ganja Plant record "Bush Rock" on ROIR Records with his track "Gun A Bust" which debuted on the Reggae Billboard Top 20. J-san's incredibly powerful vocals are reminiscent of the great soul singers of any era. JATAS explores new landscapes of sound based in the waters of dub, roots of soul - deftly moving from love songs dripping with emotion to fiery protest songs that send fists pumping and spines tingling!

Son of radical vietnam veteran father and Okinawan mother J-san was raised on the road. Living at times with artists and musicians and other times with ganja growers and hustlers, music was a constant companion.
