Jru-Starz is what he call’s himself!!
When you witness the talent of this entertainer for the first time, you’ll know why he call’s himself Jru-Starz. His southern charm and attractive smile compliment his graceful, soothing voice. He has a sound that eases the soul and seems to lift his listeners to a higher place. With inspiration from Micheal Jackson, Steve wonder, Usher, Ginuwine, John Legend, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye and Al Greene, Jru-Starz has created songs that inspire true love, reality, and change. Wearing many hats, Jru-Starz can best be described as a singer/song writer/dancer/actor. He is an exceptionally gifted writer and gets most of his lyrical inspiration from his heart and life experiences. His innovative dance style consists of hip-hop, modern, ballet, and jazz.
Born October 8, 1983 in Lafayette, Louisiana as Andrew Broussard Jr., Jru-Starz was born to perform. Raised in the small town of Duson, Louisiana he has always had giant dreams! At the age of 6 years old Jru-Starz has been developing his gift as an entertainer. He began his singing career in the church choir under his mother (Geraldine Broussard) who at the time directed St. Joseph’s Youth Choir. While increasing his vocal skills in the youth choir, he then took on another interest behind his idol, Michael Jackson, who inspired him to dance. Early on in his life Jru-Starz took advantage of every opportunity given to show off his moves. Entering every local talent show and performing at all school productions. Throughout his school years Jru-Starz was known as the “guy that’s always dancing”. Jru-Starz is currently signed to "Global starz records" and working on a few major projects lyrically for other well-known and up-and-coming artist. He is the type of artist whose passion for music will not allow him to do anything less than to go above and beyond to create quality music. Jru-Starz is an artist with a limit that is beyond this universe. He has written and vocally arranged the majority of his songs, and has collaborated with other writer’s for a few songs as well.
In addition to the singing, song writing, and dancing, he is a great actor as well. He has starred in plays such as “Anne Frank”, “Greater Tuna”, and “End of a Perfect Death”. He has recently obtained smaller supporting roles in larger productions in 2007 in the movie “A GOOD MAN IS HARD TO FIND” which is a Tyler Perry production, and the movie “MAMA I WANNA SING” starring “Ciara” and is hopeful to land more leading roles in the future.
Jru-Starz is also well known in his hometown of Lafayette, LA. He has spent a lot of time in the community working with the youth. He feels that it is very important that he is responsible with the messages he sends to the youth through his songs and performances; he does his best to be a positive role model. Jru-Starz has always given off a humble aura; he thanks God for his ups and allowing him to experience down, because the trials are the things that increase strength.
This is an artist that shall not be taken lightly!! He resides above the sky! He performs with the stars, and is defiantly an icon of his own. When discovered he’ll be as historical as buried treasure.
