Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Joy Angele's sound is representative of the Crescent Citys unmistakable culture and artistic flair. Growing up as a preachers kid, her gospel roots are undeniable. With her grandmother as the church organist and her mother as the choir director, it was only natural for Joy Angele to gravitate towards the spotlight. At the tender age of five, Joy Angele made her singing debut at the church where her father was a minister.
Throughout the years, classical vocal training and numerous performance opportunities fashioned the voice now distinctively known as that of artist Joy Angele. Influenced by such contemporary artists as Brandy and Brian McKnight, Joy Angele's vocal prowess conjures reminiscent thoughts of a time when singers really sang poignant lyrics -- heartfelt delivery all hugged up with a soulful groove.

Joy Angele has shared stages with artists Vashawn Mitchell, John P. Kee, Tonex, Michael Buble, Nikki Ross, Dwele, Dean James, Oliver Scott, Austin Biel, Aaron Hall, Ali Woodson, Mary Griffin, Trina Broussard, Mikki Howard, Bishop Paul S. Morton and other awesome performers. Performances include the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, The Bayou Classic opening concerts for artists Patti LaBelle and Confunction and the Essence Music Festival. Joy Angele was also one of the top ten semi-finalists for 106 and Park's "Mimi I Wanna Sing Contest" sponsored by BET.
Joy Angele currently resides in Houston, TX since relocating from New Orleans after the devastating hurricane Katrina. In addition to her solo work, she also does background vocal work for national artists that are in town and studio sessions. Also she often shares the stage with smooth Jazz artist, Dean James. Joy Angele will be working on a project being released soon.
