I started playing the cello when I was 8 years old in Nevada City, CA a small town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I joined the Sacramento Youth Symphony when I reached high school where I sat in the first stand for three of my four years. During those years I had the privilege to play with artists such as Roger Hodgson and Super Tramp, Winton and Delfeayo Marsalis, Bobby Mcferrin, Joanna Newsom, and Lubomir Georgiev. My first recording gig was in 1997 for a CD called Rites of Passage, a live recording of two concerts that I played with the members of Super Tramp. After high school, I accepted a music scholarship from San Diego State University and played in the orchestra's principle chair for two years. In 2001 I transferred to Cornish College of the Arts to continue my studies in cello performance and received my BA degree in 2004. Recently I have played on Brandi Carlile's first album "Brandi Carlile", her sophomore album "The Story", on her new album "Give Up the Ghost", on a recording of "Wild Horses" with Train, on a live Indigo Girls DVD "Live at the Roxy", performed with Brandi Carlile on the television show Three Wishes, Conan O'Brien, The Tonight show with Jay Leno, The CBS Early Morning Show, The Jools Holland show, and played on 6 songs "Turpentine", "Tragedy", "Throw it all Away", "Hiding My Heart" "Before it Breaks" and "Oh Dear" which were featured on the television show Grey's Anatomy. Australian TV appearances include, the Morning Show, 9 AM and The Today Show. I recently played on the soundtrack for the feature documentary "I Think We're Alone Now". On July fourth 2010 I played with Brandi for the USO show on the south lawn of the White House. Currently I am on tour with Brandi Carlile headlining many shows and opening for bands such as: Tori Amos, Chris Isaak, Marc Brussard, Train, Jamie Cullum, The Fray, John Mayer, Newton Faulkner, One Republic, Maroon 5, Shawn Colvin, Sheryl Crow and The Indigo Girls.
