Josh Bray

Josh Bray is a 28 year old musician from the West Country. He picked up a guitar in his early twenties for the first time after law school when crashing on his guitar playing brother's floor. He soon immersed himself in the altered tuning playing of the Britsh folk greats and the finger picking stylings of the American and British folk tradition, particularly the alternate thumb playing of Doc Watson, Kelly Joe Phelps etc. HIs style has continued to developed as his musical awakening has shown him more and more artists that have inspired him to improve and refine his writing from the naive yet beautiful bedroom recordings that first brought him to the world's attention.
Among his fans are Jools Holland and Eric Clapton and his music has been compared to such diversity of artists as Nick Drake, John Martyn, Tracy Chapman, Ryan Adams and Ray Lamontagne among others.
Josh is an original artist who is taking his love of folk and roots music to 21st century audiences with a style that is all his own.
