JOSEPH TROSKI BIOGRAPHY:

Whether performing live, scoring film or producing in Europe, Joseph Troski is in command. This recording artist wears many hats, and he is comfortable in all of them.

Most recently, the South African-born composer's work was featured in the new book from ABC Extreme Makeover Home Edition designer Eduardo Xol, 'Extreme Entertaining'.

Troski is a self-taught talent, teaching himself to sing and play from the age of five.

Born in the suburbs of Johannesburg, South Africa, Troski moved to the US at age eight and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. A fine artist at an early age, Troski would go on to attend Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (the "Fame" school) with aspirations of becoming an architect. But it became clear that music would be the center stage for this artist. "I would spend hours locked away in my room with my Casio keyboard, playing along with my favorite recordings. If I heard the music, I just knew how to play it. My fingers and ears were friends. I could play along by ear to anything. By the time I was 16, and got my first pro equipment, I was a goner. I knew it was gonna be me and the music for the rest of my life." By age 18, Troski was performing his original music in clubs, scoring live dance at Hunter College, was offered a seat at the Purchase College Conservatory of Music and a recording/ publishing deal. And all of this without any music training.

Joseph has made a name for himself as a singer, composer, performer and producer - most recently creating an original score for Kent State University and Porthouse Theater's production of "Alice" as well as co-writing and producing singles for European recording artist Saskia Font's album, “Deep”.

He has received honorable mentions from the John Lennon International Songwriting competition and his original compositions have been featured in various stage and screen productions including: Tisch/NYU Independent Film Festival (NY), Hunter College Dance Series (NY), William Shakespeare's Coriolanus (Dallas TX), Blood Pudding (Dublin, Ireland), The Josephine Footnote (Berkshire, MA).

In summer 2008, Joseph was commissioned by Kent State University (Kent, OH) to create an original score for "Alice / Through the Looking Glass," a production for which he acted not only as composer and sound designer, but also as musical director and performer. Proving the scope of this musician's versatility and potential are still yet to be realized.

Troski currently spends time in Los Angeles, Dallas and New York and is finalizing his next solo album entitled “Truth,” to be released in the Fall 2009.
