Joseph’s obsession with lyrics, life and modern day monotony lead to an ambition to create a new innovative sound that has both lyrical power and emotional intensity to communicate directly to the heart and head.
Joseph’s ditties relate to all, combining chaotic melodies, cackling choruses and twisted comic tales of modern-day twenty-first-century-toss. He sings of escapism, hope, lost-love, desire, disappointment, dirt and dross.
There are heartfelt stories of soul-destroying detested jobs, cravings, cigarettes, cider,
city-boys, gutsy-girls, mundane-meritocracy, monkeys, misunderstanding and malice.
They sing of fantasy and fiction, obesity, odour, sickness, sadness and self-pity. There are tales of wine, wisdom, weekends and repugnant waste. Intoxicated togetherness, boredom, bed-sits, beatings and bums. The lookers, The lipstick smeared tarts, The romance and of course the regret.
In such melodic intrigue he mangles the darkest days with the happiest of endings, contrasting beauty with wretched ugliness, intelligential hooligans, coked-up grot-bags, arrogance, ignorance, the idiotic railways and tubes to the endearing tramps that call it home.
The roots of their musical ability stretch far, wide and beyond, from dance, indie, folk, and pop-culture. The diversity and turbulence of his life experiences add to the depth and passion of his creation.
