Frankly speaking is an alternative rock band based out of Cincinnati, OH. Started by front man Jordon Frank Schneider in 2006, Frankly has recorded multiple albums and been featured on compilations alongside artists such as Luna halo, Lifehouse, Kate Nash, and The Midway state. Currently they are working on their new EP "We are Islands" which should be finished by end of spring. Stylistically hard to define, Frankly uses piano and synth as well as acoustic and electric guitars with home hitting lyrics that relate to their listeners.
Although the band was originally started as a solo act by Jordon "frankly speaking" Schneider, he reached great heights recording albums "Edit, Undo", "the death of chivalry" and "Apart from how we feel". With these albums Jordon was deservingly featured on Saturday Night Magazine's 2007 CD compilation, "Saturday Night Loud: Volume 4", along with an article in the November issue. Also, he was nominated for "Best Punk Vocal" at the Los Angeles Music Awards (LAMA.com) for the single "Wasting all my time".
Prior to Frankly Speaking's current lineup, the other members had illustrious resumes playing with different bands over the years such as Lure, Kissing Pat, Cocktails and Dreams, Back Deck Summer and Black Saints Cartel.
Each member has his own strengths and tastes in music, as we grow as a band, and individually, we will continue to portray that through our music. We are currently going through one of these growth spurts and are continually finding ways to mold the music. You will still see us playing old originals at old venues, but as the music grows so does our taste for new fans and new places to play locally and nationally.
"…when you finally find what it is your supposed to do in this world, to not pursue that dream is foolish, and bringing in others on what your good at, only drives you further to an unknown goal. I Love it."
- Jordon Schneider
"If you can paint a picture good enough to show your listeners exactly what you were feeling/thinking when you wrote or recorded the song, then you really have something."
- Jordon Schneider
"Frankly Speaking- Frankly Speaking's synchronization and rolling drum beats packed a perfectly timed punch throughout their performance. The mix of electric and acoustic guitars gave the music a unique, personal folk-rock sound. Wailing guitar distortions coupled with vocalist Jordan Frank Schneider's powerful cries created a chilling sound that left a lasting impression on the night. "
- Kelly Tuckers and Sean Peters, Clifton Heights Music Festival
