Jordi Rosen

Montreal-based Jordi Rosen is a singer/songwriter/accordionist who has been fine tuning her art and writing her own material since early childhood. Jordi's eclectic choice of instruments thrives in her dream pop songs which celebrate life, love and spirituality. The Casio has been added to her repertoire in the last few years and she is experimenting more with beats, various collaborations and instruments
Jordi has new songs up (Casio SA-3 and Hineh Ma Tov) recorded at soundboothproduction and is recording with Alex Olsen for a Taki76 and Jordi song! A new album which was Produced and Recorded by Christian Richer and Co-Produced by Jordi will be available in the nearish future. Yippee!
Her 2001 debut CD, Madame Xavier, has been described by critics as "ethereal, sweet illustrious sounds brimming with pop passion, evoking tender reminiscence in the listener." Her second CD entitled Lotus follows in her folk/pop tradition.
Jordi was nominated as best singer/songwriter from Montreal's M.I M.I. awards in 2001, and has gained much airplay on radio stations nationwide and some European cities. Jordi also did a five week residency at the living room in nyc a couple of years ago, which was organized by jane gabriels.
She has performed, toured and recorded with with artists such as Rufus Wainwright, Annabelle Chvostek and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. She has shared the stage with Antony and the Johnsons, The The, Hashimoto, Hayden, Bob Wiseman, Penny Lang, Hawksley Workman, Andrew Bird, Martha Wainwright, Hayden, Lisa Gamble, Carrie Haber, Jackie Gallant, Joellen Housego, and Grayson Walker. Jordi has also played at benefits for the McGill Daily, Women Centers, Divers-Cites and The Gilda Radner Foundation.
A majority of Jordi's songs stem from her intuitive abilities. She has been a professional Tarot card reader and Channeller for many years. She also reads tea leaves and works with Animal Familiars. She feels especially tuned in to them resonating from her Ojibway roots. Jordi was given her first deck of Tarot cards from her father at the age of nine.
