Jon Randall Stewart started his musical journey singing backup and playing guitar with Emmylou Harris's Grammy award winning Nash Ramblers. He has also toured and recorded with Lyle Lovett, The Sam Bush Band, Vince Gill, Patty Loveless, Trisha Yearwood and Earl Scruggs Family and Friends to name a few. Jon has recorded several critically acclaimed Albums For RCA, Asylum and Epic Records.
"Whiskey Lullaby", co-written with Whisperin' Bill Anderson, and recorded by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss, earned him a Country Music Association (CMA) award for Song of the Year in 2005. In addition to that honor, he also received an Academy of Country Music (ACM) nomination, and Music Row, a Nashville-based industry publication, presented the writers with Song of the Year honors. Jon has also been awarded  Grammy,IBMA,Music City News , NSAI and BMI awards. For various recordings. He has had over fifty songs recorded by major label artist.
Jon co-produced The Nitty Gitty Dirt Band's Latest CD "Speed of Life" as well as Dawn Langstroth's "Highwire Heart" CD with legendary Producer George Massenberg. He recently produced Dierks Bentley's critically acclaimed CD entitled "Up On The Ridge" Which earned three CMA Award nominations and three Grammy Award nominations.
In 2009 He joined an all star cast of players and founded the band 18 SOUTH. Look for their CD coming to Itunes.
