Mauricia “Rici” Keels is a music mogul on the rise, having worked in multiple facets of the music industry, Rici has garnered the experiences necessary to be deemed one of the music industries “Women to Watch.” Rici, as she is affectionately known by industry heavy weights, is a native of Tampa, FL. “I began my career in the music industry as a promoter; my goal was to bring talented artist to my city.” Rici a music enthusiast saw a need for diversity in the music scene of Tampa. Rici begin making a splash as a promoter in 2004 bringing artist such as; Gucci Mane, Mike Jones, Young Bloodz, The Game, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Young Jeezy just to name a few. Rici’s savvy as a promoter made industry insiders wonder about her prowlers in other areas.



Mike Jones, a close associate of the young executive, after being impressed with the raw talent of a local Florida artist by the name of “Ms. Sassi”, asked Rici to try her hand at management. Rici accepted the challenge and begin managing the upcoming female rapper. In order to learn the ends and outs of management, Rici amerced herself in the lifestyle of constant travel, meetings, and nonstop responsibility by first going on tour with Mike Jones and later becoming part of the traveling party on the 50cent Massacre tour, during which time she also parlayed a career as a stylist. “Mike Jones introduced me to 50cent and Young Buck as his sister, he told them to take care of me…” While traveling she attended the Dirty Awards where she met Russell “Block” Spencer. Block, C.E.O. of Block Entertainment, was impressed by Rici’s business mind and offered her a position at his record label if she ever wanted to relocate to Atlanta. Rici took Block up on his business proposition and relocated to Atlanta in early 2007 and has been acting as his personal assistant ever since.
