pikeville, Kentucky, Johnnie Branham relocated with his family to Chicago, Illinois, in his early childhood. Johnnie Branham was only 15-years-old when he became leader of his first real band that was comprised of 30-year-old musicians. Because of Johnnie's leadership, he was allowed to enter and perform at the "Golden Goose" bar in Chicago, Illinois, time and time again.
In later years, Johnnie was a martial arts instructor, Most of his life, however, Johnnie was a horse trainer.
Johnnie Branham has traveled throughout 49 states playing his country, gospel, blues and jazz music. He has received five awards from the Country Gospel Music Association while in Branson, Missouri, and has had a guitar named after him by the Crossover Custom Guitar Company which he personally endorses while playing on stage. Johnnie Branham is goal-driven with unsurpassed stamina. During a contest he entered in 2005 , Johnnie played guitar for 23 straight hours earning a new guitar.
More recently, Johnnie Branham has completed noe three albums titled, "Take Out The Trash" and "Someone's Watching", and most recent but not released "The American Dream" and has co-written a tribute song called, "A Little Man (with a big voice)" in honor of his distant cousin, Gary Stewart (King of the Honky Tonk). His co-writer is Jerry Jay, a member of Gary Stewart's band.
Johnnie Branham's songs reach the hearts of all ages, such as "Happy Street" does with a pleasant melody and pleasing vocal sound. His songs portray a realness to them with lots of love and christian overtures. Johnnie states that God has been his inspiration and co-writer since the beginning.
Johnnie has wrote a new R&B Blues Rock Gospel album. but not recorded as of yet, had set back's on the "American Dream" album. went through several change"s this year, hope for a better year 2011. and now living in Nashville TN, Just signed with Seacost Record's, and getting ready to release a nw singel called Driving a Truck" is like a country song.
