DESCRIPTION:
Tárrega composed his "Memories of the Alhambra" in Granada. It became one of the most famous pieces for guitar and is surely one of the most melancholic. One of those, which let us enjoy the sweetness of tears, at least before having experienced the real bitter ones.
In those days in the eighties I used to like my own romantic sadness and so this piece was one of my favourites.

I took the photos, used in this video, from a very old book from my grandfather, published in 1922. "Das unbekannte Spanien" ("The unknown spain") by Kurt Hielscher. Yesterday I found an interesting channel, in which this book is presented :

"Recuerdos de la Alhambra" was part of my first "commercial" solo production in 1985, labeled as "affettuoso assai" and was sold as handcopied compactCassettes during my first public concerts.
