Johan Piribauer is a Folk-singer-songwriter from Arvidsjaur, Lapland in the north of Sweden.

He has released 5 CD-albums and 3 CD- singles on the label Inlandskult Records since his first record in 1995.

The melodic songs and the Swedish lyrics are inspired from the Lappish nature and culture. All the songs are very various from slowly Ballads into up-tempo rockers with the folk-touch following all the time.

Since 2001 he has been touring all around Sweden and Norway. But there has also been tours to Denmark, Finland, Faeroe Isands, Germany, Austria, New Zealand, Australia and Singapore. He has also been playing in Antarctica, South and North America. He use to tour with his band “Gruvtolvan”, but he also tours alone and in smaller acoustic line-ups. He has been playing both festivals and headlining tours by himself.

Many of his songs has been played in Radio stations and also used as background-music on TV-programs. He has also made liveperformances in both TV and Radio with his band.

Although he’s always been an “underground-artist”, many critics have said that he is one of the important artists that take Swedish progressive folk-rock from the seventies into 21: s t century.

He is a musical-profile in Lapland also because that he’s also arranging concerts and festivals beside his own music.

Johan Piribauer have played almost 200 gigs since the beginning of 2007, both in small villages, big cities and festival-stages. He released the latest album "Johan Piribauer & Gruvtolvan" in 2008 and he’s continuing to touring, both in Scandinavia, but also other countries around the world with his folk-band.
