Joe Kerr biography:

Born March 10th 1989, Trevor Sullivan (Better known as Joe Kerr) is said to be one of the mid-wests finest up and coming producers. His mother, Kimberly Sullivan, was the former lead singer/bass-player of the band 'Ultra Blue' which gained moderate billboard success in the 90's with the album "Mezmorise Me". As a son of a musician, Joe began experimenting with music at an early age. Playing drums at the age of 6, and piano at the age of 9, its no wonder this Cleveland native is among the top of the game at such an early age. But it wasn't all fun and games for this future hip-hop prospect. Never knowing his biological father, he became very attached to his mother's former band-mate and at-the-time boyfriend Robin Scrocki. "He was like a father to me" said Joe when asked about the guitar player/future father figure, "he'd be at every one of my little league games." In 1998, his mother and live-in boyfriend Robin seperated forcing the then 10 year old Joe Kerr to play the roll of the man of the household. His mother began working two jobs to make-up for the loss of income, with the addition of doing shows with her at-the-time band and finishing high school the thought of raising her two sons was almost impossible. "We pretty much raised ourselfs" says Joe speaking on behalf of himself and older brother Tyler Sullivan age 26, "growing up without parents really makes you mature at a young age". Instead of taking advantage of his mothers absence at home by drinking and throwing parties, this determined 12 year old took a special interest in music, writing and producing his very own rap album entitled 'It's Harder Then U Think' as a pre-teen using his mothers studio. Like a kid in a candy shop, Joe would spend countless hours writing new material and practicing both drums & piano which he grew up playing. "I had a basic idea of how to do what i was trying to do" said Joe in an interview with sixshot magazine, "I think it was just my young age that impressed people the most." In 2003, his mother met drummer Mike Keyes at her prior job at The Plain Dealer and they soon began dating. Shortly after the relationship started, Joe and his mother moved in with the him and relocated from Cleveland Ohio, to the rural suburb of North Ridgeville. When asked about the transition from welfare to weathly Joe replied, "Honestly i hated it, but i knew my mom was just trying to get me out of the environment i was in, and i'm glad she did." Not letting the loss of his prior fame he developed in Cleveland, and the seperation from his older brother discourage him, Joe stuck with what he knew best.Making music. After putting out countless albums in the span of two years his career was haulted by the death of his long-time best friend Brandon Miller who was murdered in a drive-by shooting in the summer of 2004. It wasn't long after the tragedy when he started gaining popularity in the Cleveland area not only as a producer, but as an MC. In 2006, using the internet as a tool of conducting business, Joe began producing for numerous artists all throughout the country sky-rocketing his local fame onto a national level. "I feel blessed to be able to do what i love to do." said the now 20 year old, "At the end of the day, i just want to be able to say i earned it."
