Once upon a time on the night of the full moon Joana went to the forest and came across the wolf who was howling. She came closer and said hey wolf can you teach me to sing that nice hooooowl. And the wolf said yes and asked her to open her pretty mouth, and when she did the wolf jumped in like into a deep well. Since then, the girl wanders around with the wolf inside her and each time the moon is full she lets out a wild hoooowl.

Joana And The Wolf are a London four piece fronted by Lithuanian singer-songwriter Joana Glaza. Their sound escapes categories. You can hear many things in it, but what would be the name for it? Maybe it doesn't even exist yet. They are exotic without trying to be exotic. A girl with natural influences of Russian folk and Maria Callas comes to London, falls in love with rock - her forbidden fruit, the music that was banned in the East - embraces it with the passion of first love, finds people who listened in their cradles to the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin instead of lullabies and together they create this strange child.this child is dark epic poetic unique but it definitely has the balls of Rock n Roll. It doesn't like small rooms, it explodes them. And in the end you stop caring about names and categories, you just admire it.
Joana And The Wolf have appeared at Bestival, Great Escape Festival, Camden Crawl and Big Chill 2009. They have supported Pete Doherty and James Dean Bradfield, and Joana sings on Kasabian's 'Empire'. In 2009 they joined forces with producer Jerome Pijon (who also launched the career of Seu Jorge) who helped to evolve and unify their sound further, and together they demoed 3 new tracks in Paris in summer 2009.
2010 highlights include appearances at Lovebox Weekender (London), Waterpop festival (Holland), Stop Making Sense festival (Croatia) and a headline at Koko (Club NME, London).
