J-Nyse, singer, songwriter and producer"NYSE" an acronym 4 "New York's Singer Extraordinare" has the voice that you can't describe! He's the young man who "Comes Thru" as he always says, and is ready to deliver! J-nyse is the youngest of 4 children! He was born and raised in Brooklyn NY, his father and mother were born in the island of Kingston Jamaica along with his siblings! J-Nyse started singing, playing piano and drums at the early age of 4 years old in church with his parents! His father and mother always use to sing in church which inspired him also to start singing! J began doin music part-time when he was a teenager and later made it a full-time job! Currently he works with Lenny Green and Shaila from 98.7 kiss fm, which he is known as the "98.7 kiss fm's open-mic babyboy", (That name was given 2 him by Shaila) and currently sings backgrounds for Lyfe Jennings and also played a role in his last video entitled "Let's Stay Together"! He has appeared on such television shows such as "Showtime at the Apollo", where he was an amateur nite contestant, also appeared on the show singing backgrounds for Lyfe Jennings and Noel Gourdin and later opened up for amateur nite which is held on wednesday nights! J has also appeared on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" show singing backgrounds for Lyfe! J-Nyse is known all over new york for his singing abilities, and his energy, which some people finds quite unusual! J also is inspired by such singers as his father Tony Cousins, "Love You Dad, ur the real reason y i wanted 2b a great singer n make u proud" Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Lenny Williams, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass, Sam Cooke, Luther Vandross, Musiq Soulchild, Lyfe Jennings, R.Kelly, John Legend, and Tonex! J is also known for bringing down the house when singing, "A Change Is Gonna Come" and "All I do", which are his favorite songs! He aslo worked with celebrities such as, Bobby Brown, Bette Midler, Queen Latifah, Musiq Soulchild, Lyfe Jennings, Mickie Howard, Chaka Khan, Ashford and Simpson, Johnny Kemp, Ying Yang Twins Stevie Wonder, Freddie Jackson, Katt Williams and many more! You can also find him singing at the Village Undeground with Ron Grant on sundays, Cheryl Pepsi Riley on mondays, Cafe Wha on tuesdays, wednesdays at the 5spot with Nate Jones, and Thursdays at the sugarbar with Ashford and Simpson!
