Hailing from Augusta, Georgia, JJ Maj & The Unpolished Brass is comprised of eight talented musicians with an obsession focused tightly on creating music. Drawing their primary influences from Louisianas rich bayou culture, JJ Maj strives to preserve the artistic origins of roots music. An intense respect and love for all things Armstrong, Clinton, Waters, and Mr. Brown himself, JJ Maj swiftly sidesteps genre fads and fading musical trends and strives to purely invoke the spirit of Soul, Motown, and Funk into a tightly packaged piece of art. Brothers Matthew and Jarett Acosta provide guitar and bass, while cousin Joey Matherne and Timothy Acosta handle percussion. With John Rose on flute, and Jordan, Pedro and Joseph adding horn accents, they create a collage of grassroots music that is sure to excite all musical taste buds
