Singer-songwriter Owen penned a fair amount of songs for others, including "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man" and "The Telephone". His own recording career has lasted for many decades, although he never had anything in the way of sizable hits. Still performing today in Branson, his first charting single (this one, which reached #97 in 1978) was a cover of his idol Hank Williams Sr's well-known tune.
