style>Twenty years at the top of New Englands' music scene, Jimmy Junkins and the Soulcats are just one ass kicking American blues bandan authentic music entity. This is one powerful and original band, but don't ever mistake them for "just another blues band" because you'd be wrong. These guys play music with a "take no prisoners" approach for sure!! Twelve years ago Boston's Blues Magazine "Blueswire" said."At a time when blues stringers are a dime a dozen, this guy shines like a silver dollar", and the Soulcats are still shinin'! With a serious road history performing throughout the U.S. and Canada, two internationally distributed CD releases and performances with B.B. King, Buddy Guy,The Robert Cray Band, Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters, The Eddie Burks Band, Rod Piazza and the Mighty Flyers, Zora Young, Asleep at the Wheel, Roomful of Blues, Monster Mike Welch, Big Jack Johnson, Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Anson Funderburgh, at the 2006 Boston Blues Festival, and most recently with (W.C. Handy award recipient) Nick Curran (Nick and the Nitelifes, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and the all new DEGUELLO!) just to name a few, this band is sheer roots and blues enjoyment with a sound that speaks in world class tones!!!

Jimmy has been called a "master of tonality", and has been written about in some of the top blues publications worldwide.

It's been said that he was "born in New England but his soul was raised up in Louisiana"

Bennie Green (Face Magazine) said, "when he plays a note you feel it, Jimmy plays guitar without alot of pyrotechnic nonsense, if you've seen Jimmy Junkins play, you've seen something of a rarity, someone who plays for the sheer love of music"

Born the year that Chevrolet dropped the tailfins off of the Bel Air, Jimmy grew up in a working class town in the northeast. Shortly after high school he began performing blues, rock and country in solo and duo formats. After a stint with his first rock band Atlantic Jam, he began his pilgrimage to the heart of the blues

In the early nineties when status quo for most New England based blues bands was to release albums of traditional covers, Jimmy released his first totally original CD, "Things Have Gotta Change" to much acclaim from all corners of the globe. This CD put him on top ten blues charts in Europe, and received extensive airplay on college and AOR stations across the U.S., and opened the doors to some of the countrys' top blues joints.

Powerful Love (Blu Rocket) followed in 1998 again to great reviews.

The Soulcats are currently working on their third release that promises a cruise down a different highway while remaining true to the blues that they are known for!!!!!
