With a bass-driven beat and sharp lyrics, Jimmy Chocolate is considered one of the hottest underground acts in South Florida. Whether it is his high-energy performances, his deep sexy voice or his original sounds, Jimmy Chocolate captivates his audiences, especially the ladies.
Born in Hartford, Conn., Jimmy Chocolate eventually moved to Richmond Va. with his mother, who would often sing to the boy. Inspired by that upbringing, Jimmy Chocolate started out singing and dancing in the school chorus, and eventually formed his first singing group while still in high school. After graduating, Jimmy Chocolate began writing rap lyrics under the name Keith Kronic. Working with local friends and other rappers, he started a rap group called the Green Team. But Jimmy Chocolate felt he had out-grown his Richmond stomping ground and headed for the sunny beaches of Miami, and eventually got his first big break.
Once in Miami, Jimmy Chocolate ditched his old street name for one with a little more old-fashioned street credit. Inspired by a back-home hoodlum and gangster of the same name, Jimmy Chocolate remembers his namesake flashing pockets of money, dressing in the latest clothes and hooking up with the hottest of hotties - a reputation Jimmy Chocolate himself desired to achieve.
And he has! With the help of DJ Cox from Trunk Funk Records, Jimmy Chocolate cut his first cd Have You Seen Jimmy. Furthering his success, Jimmy Chocolate released his second cd DJ Cox Trunk Funk Sampler, and his third collaboration Jimmy Chocolate the Sampler. But he received national success with the recently released movie, Bloodline that features Jimmy Chocolate on its soundtrack.
His success was further cemented when he began working with artists such as Pit Bull, Rich Ross, Lil Wayne, Trick Daddy, Trina Brisco, Cubo, Field Mobb, Piccalo, Luther Cambell and many others.
Part of the Myspace.com generation of rappers, Jimmy Chocolate’s music have become underground classics, and now is the self-proclaimed Underground King of mixed tapes in South Florida. But Jimmy Chocolate aspires for more success: signing with a major record label to develop and distribute his world-class raps, as well as join a worldwide tour to show that he is a true entertainer.
