Jim spends much of his time touring throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe with his own inimitable style, blending traditional and self-penned songs along with some covers in a performance that is always different and always memorable.



Working from bases both in Wales and Denmark, Jim has just completed recording a new CD with Danish based artist Martin Dale, Jim has been performing with such diverse artists as American hammered dulcimer player Jim Couza and Irish Eurovision winner Johnny Logan. Jim has made a number of appearances on Danish & UK radio & TV and also MTV Europe. Over the years he has recorded a number of CD's which are available at gigs BUY JIM FOX MUSIC HERE! Jim is also well known as a compere at many festivals including The Big Cheese Festival, Pontardawe International Music Festival, and on the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury Festival where he has been a regular performer since the mid 80s. When Jim is not performing as a solo artist he is usually working hard as part of MADRA RUA .



During the 1990s, Madra Rua were probably one of the hardest working acts touring the UK, playing at Irish Clubs and Bars, folk clubs and festivals, often playing 5 or 6 gigs in a week. After a number of recordings and many thousand miles of travelling, circumstances led to members pursuing different directions. Then, last year, founder members Ian Thomas & Jim Fox decided to get together and play some concerts and have been continuing to do so whenever the opportunity arises.
