Not only is Jill Gioia (Joy-a) an extraordinarily gifted singer and songwriter, she also inspired a smashing pair of high-heeled boots that are about as sexy as she is. Based on her total rock’n’roll attitude, Jill was the winner of the first Steve Madden “Rock n’ Sole Band Search” contest resulting in the “Jill Joy Boot”, named after her.

But there are miles more to Jill than a pair of extra-cool boots. The gritty, pretty, super soulful rock singer from New York brings a biting edge to music that makes people sit up, take notice and leave with a smile on their face.

Jill performed as back up and opening work for illustrious artists ranging from B-52’s to Dee Snider to 98 Degrees to Berlin, and on major television shows like “The Late Show with David Letterman,” where she performed with the band Third Eye Blind. Before appearing on CBS's Rockstar Supernova, Jill was also the female lead singer for the West Coast touring company of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Gioia also executed some skillful, memorable belt-outs of one of the hardest songs to sing--The National Anthem--and more than once. She even filled Madison Square Garden singing the complicated, patriotic ode, opening up a NY Rangers Playoff game with smashing aplomb. And her formidable pipes continued to shine in Performances at Manhattan Center with INXS, Jeffrey Gaines and Gloria Gaynor as part of the Bali Benefit Concert. Taking her even further, Jill’s song “Don’t Make Me Wait,” went gold in Spain.

Jill Gioia’s impressive credits include two albums (“He’s My Bitch” and “Got Some Issues”), numerous radio and TV appearances (Reality Remix, Fox 5’s Good Day NY and News 12 Long Island; she has appeared on 95.5 FM “The Scott and Todd Show”, 102.7 FM WNEW’s “Ron & Fez” show; her song “He’s My Bitch” has been in regular rotation on WLIR 92.7 FM, WBLI, WDHA, WNEW, Q104.3, and featured on MTV’s “The Real World” and NBC’s “Passions”). Jill was featured on the cover of Flatiron Magazine, in Newsday, Glamour, Billboard, The Daily News, New York Times, New York Post, and Long Island Press.

But her successes have not kept Jill from remembering her roots, as the immensely likable woman remains steadfastly down to earth and quick to smile. And living in the nifty situation of being married to a musician whom she performs and tours the country with, Jill has plenty reason to smile.
