Jesus Fucking Christ was formed shortly after the demise of Deadly Weapons. Larry Rickets decided to find the best punk rock musicians he knew in the bay area. First, with a little coercing he convinced Jamie (of Pitch Black fame) to join on drums. Secondly they hounded Dave Ed (of Neurosis fame) to join on bass. Jesus Fucking Christ is described as tough straight ahead old school punk, but there is also slight elements of Negative Approach style hardcore, and Accused style metal riffing. They have recorded and released a full length album on Inimical Records from Seattle. Jesus Fucking Christ just completed a successfull and amazing tour of Europe. Last August Jesus Fucking Christ recorded their long awaited second full length LP, it will be released in July 2008. They are looking forward to being back in Oakland and playing some more kick ass local and west coast shows.

From Profane Existence 58JESUS FUCKING CHRIST Life’s Hateful Seed LPHOLY FUCKING FUCKITY FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!! I swear to god this record grabbed me by the guts and turned some shit inside out!!! Okay I saw JESUS FUCKING CHRIST records in the PE distro for a while and assumed it was some sludgy stuff I wouldn’t be too into but I loved their name, who wouldn’t right? I got the record to review because the other stuff went out when the inimical box came in and I just brought it home. I saw Life’s Hateful Seed when I opened it up tonight for review and when I placed it on the turntable I was hit on the head with I’m Surrounded By Those Who Want Me Dead I was taken immediately by the brilliance of this disc. I’ve listened to both sides twice now and I’m just gonna throw this one out there, start with side two. I think it just builds it better, this LP will rearrange your living room. Driving guitars, clean production, it’s like metal only good. Fucking brilliant, angry punk just spitting fury at me through my speakers. My neighbors went ballistic because I busted this fucker out at 2am. This record needs to be played loud and often. Musically superior to a lot of other stuff going on and it’s so brilliantly produced and I just don’t know what else to say. I love the fuck out of this record. Buy this LP and have JESUS FUCKING CHRIST tattooed on your forehead. Trust me on this. The cover to this album and the band's blasphemous name suggests black metal but on playing the album and hearing the intro of the first song "I'm Surrounded By Those Want Me Dead" lets the listener know there is a serious nod to 80's crossover and will have many wondering if this band has a "Five Year Plan". They then head into fast furious crust punk with dual vocals, revisting the territory also covered recently by BORN/DEAD. One of the JESUS FUCKING CHRIST vocalists uses a snarly spitting style and the other employs the gruff hardcore style. This band have thrash metal leanings and aren't afraid to display them by unleashing into some great metal style riffing and drumming towards the end of the opening song. The title track "Life's Hateful Seed" is dark and moody metal instrumentally but dominated by hate vocals not unlike KREATOR's Mille Petrozza at his most venomous. Doom and sludge metal fans should enjoy the first two minutes of the instrumental "Forty Third" and then get confused towards the end with an epileptic hardcore thrash seizure. "A Living Hell" is a hardcore punk/metal blast. This song is obviously intended to be the band's theme song as their name is shouted numerous times while the bile is laid on. "Lonely Asshole" wanders down cliched hardcore territory with crunchy guitar sound, shouted lyrics and repetitive drumming making it the weakest track but the monotony is broken with a little stylish guitar work. If I have any complaint about this album it's that at times I have trouble making out the lyrics during the faster crust oriented songs but that's more genre related than due to the quality of the band. Because JESUS FUCKING CHRIST, this is a good band. - Carr

A Review of Life’s Hateful Seed by Tom the singer from Resist:

So I picked up the album at the Retirement Home, brought it home put it on- taped it.WOW! Great fucking album! The song structure is what I'd refer to as a quintessential Bay Area style - both harmonic and discordant; strong rhythm with plenty of time and tempo changes (think Christ on Parade, Econochrist, etc). The guitar riffs have a Pig Champion feel to them - loud and rockin' without being self indulgent and metal. Brutal lyrical stylings similar to The Nihilists and Sheer Terror. Intense dual vocals, with a ton of texture. in short.YOU GUYS PUT OUT A FUCKING KILLER ALBUM! Anyway that's my two cents for what it's worth.
