Jesse Bannister Saxophonist and Composer
The only professional Hindustani saxophonist in the country. He has studied for 7 years with Dharambir Singh, as well as periods of study with Pandits Rajan and Sajan Mishra, Pandit Arvind Parikh and Pandit Rajeeb Chakraborty. Jesse has given many solo recitals and from 1998 he has toured with Dharambir. Jesse has played with many of Englands leading South Asian Dancers,with Priti Paintal at the QEH, Purcell Room, Barbican and Jazz Café, and also with SivaRaman and Harishankar at the Purcell Room.

An exceptionally musical and dynamic Tabla player based in Leeds, U.K. Bhupinder is one of the leading disciples of the renowned Tabla Maestro and Gharanadar of the Benares gharana, Pandit Sharda Sahai Ji, who is the direct descendant of Pandit Ram Sahai Ji, the founder of this Gharana. He has been learning his art in the traditional way of learning Indian Classical Music, the Guru-Shishya parampara. His diverse awareness and collaboration with other cultures and music has given him a wide musical palette. This has led to many performance and composing opportunities such as: The Halle orchestra; Flamenco virtuoso, Eduardo Niebla; Joceyln Brown; Rui Junior; Dance companies such as Phoenix dance; many top Indian classical artists; solo performances in UK and India; Theatre, film and TV work. He has played in India and throughout Europe dazzling audiences with his performances. The most recent solo was televised on Sky Arts in November 2008.
