Jeremy Cole is a singer and songwriter whose arrival is long overdue. Born into a family of music lovers for parents and a drummer for an older brother in Wilmington, Delaware, Jeremy began singing shortly after he learned how to talk. His earliest influences ranged from classic soul and doo-wop to movie musicals and everything in between. His talents were first nurtured in an after-school program in the rough part of town, where Jeremy studied not only music, but theater and dance as well. From there, he blossomed, performing as well as studying, both privately and at institutions such as Wilmington's Cab Calloway School of the Arts and later at Philly's famed High School for Creative and Performing Arts, which has produced, to name just a few, Boys II Men, Bilal, and members of The Roots. A self-confessed "theater nerd" for much of his childhood, it was at this high school that Jeremy became so inspired by the Pop, Soul, and Gospel voices around him, that he vowed to become a recording artist at any cost. After moving to New York City at the age of 18 and briefly attending the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Jeremy started making moves. He was discovered by his first manager through an open-mic at the now-defunct Soul Café. He was flown to Canada to record his first demo, and before long, began to secure meetings with major record labels, but due to a music industry undergoing many changes at the time, the logistics weren't right. Since then, Jeremy has kept busy virtually on his own, performing in venues such as The Bitter End, Mo Pitkin's, Café Wha, Crash Mansion, The Village Underground, Ashford and Simpson's Sugar Bar, and Philadelphia's Kimmel Center. He has had songs featured in independent films and even made his television debut on Showtime at the Apollo, a personal favorite of actress, comedian, and former host, Mo'Nique. In addition, he has worked as a session singer for songwriter, Cynthia Biggs, hitmaker for Patti LaBelle, Teddy Pendergrass, and others, and as a background vocalist for Elisabeth Withers, Tony nominee and Blue Note recording artist. Currently a resident of Brooklyn, Mr. Cole is poised to storm the charts with his own personal brand of Pop and R&B music in an exciting era where "real singers" are slowly but surely getting their chance to be heard.
