Janine grew up under a mushroom in the small German village of Bielefeld. After realizing that there was not much room there she decided that she needed a larger canvas. She came to the slightly larger Amerikan village of San Francisco. There she found a place for her and her dogs to live, a large tin can on wheels. One day she ran into John. When she said did that hurt he said "No, I'm used to being a VKTM". Realizing that they both had music in their blood along with other things they thought to band together.
Since she was always beating on things, like her head against walls, Janine knew that she must be a drummer. She said " Do you want to try your hand at guitar?" John spoke back, as he sometimes does,"Well, which one?" After that silly beginning they knew that they were jelly brains so they became D'Jelly Brains.

Of course, they needed something to base this on as well as having a bass. So they began turning over stones, leaves and seeds and stems to find such a thing or person. Finding a spore from space and opening it revealed a being named Jasret. He somehow knew bass but couldn't stay on Earth. Exploring further they found a wee sprout known to all as Austin and then a demon known as Dez. But all began to make sense when out the swamp came a Hessian named Tim! He was bassically from the same jelly mold and so came into the fold (and did great work recording also). The legendary Andy Henning, who D'JBs had known for years came to the rescue for a while. Funny thing, our latest bassmaster is also named Tim (Behary). He's got a heart of Pittsburgh steel. It all works out for the best. We're back onto finishing our CD and have been writing songs faster than ever.

And so it was to be, the happy tribe of punkedelic pranksters played on 'til dawn.
