WE ARE JEFF-X

The members of Jeff-X have been playing and writing music together since January of 2006, starting as two eighth graders and a seventh grader. With a lineup that changed frequently in the past, it has been difficult to find the right sound for us. We began as a punk-rock trio of Matt on bass, Alec singing and playing guitar and Mike on the drum kit. We decided to broaden our horizons into the ska scene, a period in which we began experimenting with a horn section. Eventually, we narrowed it down to our current sax player, Brandon, who has been with us since December of 2007. The next summer, we added in Cooper on the synthesizer, but with the loss of Matt on bass in December of 2008, Cooper then filled in on bass, while doing synth at the same time. It's now November 2009, and we have retained this lineup for almost a full year. We have all grown as musicians and as friends, and have recently begun to flourish in our new-found sound. We are proud of the work we do, and we hope to be recording our most recent work very soon, which will be released online for free as soon as it is done.
