Jeff Slaughter is a songwriter/worship leader who has been a part of the Nashville music community for 22 years. Having grown up in Greenwood, Mississippi, he moved to Nashville in 1985 to attend Belmont University. He graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Music /Composition and Arranging Emphasis. He began writing songs for Meadowgreen Music in 1985; and in 1989, he signed an exclusive songwriter agreement with StarSong Music Publishing.



Since 1992, he has been a freelance writer and has had songs recorded by artists such as Point of Grace, Steve Green, Truth, Al Denson, the Imperials and others. His song "One More Broken Heart" reached 1 on the charts for Point of Grace and he has had several top 10's as well. He has also had cuts on several worship projects with Integrity Hosanna! Music. If you have worked with any of LifeWay's Vacation Bible School materials over the past few years, you have probably heard some of his work there also. He has written the music for VBS since 1997. He has also written several musicals for youth and adults for LifeWay, Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing and Lillenas.



Through the years he has lived in Nashville, Jeff has had the opportunity to be involved in the country music scene as well. He has toured with artists such as Kenny Rogers, Suzy Bogguss, Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty. He has also worked with Faith Hill, Bryan White, John Berry and Joe Diffie.



Jeff began leading worship in 1987. He has led thousands of children, youth and adults in worship all over the world, traveling throughout Canada, Europe, Asia and Central America. He has led for state youth evangelism conferences, True Love Waits tours and various revivals, camps and retreats around the country. Of all the different arenas the Lord has allowed him to work in, his deepest passion is leading others in a true, life changing worship experience with Jesus.
