BIOGRAPHY

While singer/songwriter Black, born and raised in the Bay area, may be a humanitarian, his greatest gift is his music. He has sold 100,000 of his self-titled EP from 1500 Safeway stores nationwide in a campaign to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

With the release of “Human” the rising artist will now be able to bring a full collection of his reflective and passionate music to an ever-growing fan base. “The album is really about the vulnerabilities of being ‘human,”' states Jeff. “By approaching life's struggles in different ways be it cathartic or directly from the heart, it is about perseverance, relationships, love and hope.”

Music videos have been produced for the songs “Save Us All” and “Summer Nights,” with the former featuring The O.C. actress Melinda Clark. The soaring “Save Us All” has appeared in an episode of Miami CSI. The brooding track, “Criminal,” is in rotation at SIRIUS radio. Jeff will soon be featured as one of the "Who's Next" artists on Yahoo Music to support the launch of “Human.”

The joint partnership with Safeway was a unique opportunity for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. An audio clip of Black's emotional and inspiring song, “We Belong,” was played once an hour throughout the Safeway chain with an announcement that the charitable disc was available at the register. The foundation has raised millions of dollars over the past 20 years with its highly successful campaign centered around Father's Day. To further support the cause, the stoic singer has been singing the national anthem at Major League Baseball stadiums.

Black has also been a featured artist on Nissan's 8 week “Shift to Nissan” tour with Jody Raffoul and CMA award winning artist Jessica Andrews. The tour stretched across 10 major markets including Washington, D.C., New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Dallas. He has been an ongoing performer on the Los Angeles (with a recent residency at Tangiers), San Francisco and New York club scenes, headlining his own shows as well as opening in larger venues for such acts as Sugar Ray to Melissa Ethridge.

“I really look forward to the release of ‘Human,'” says Jeff, “and being able to perform my music live for all the new fans that have been giving me such positive feedback, on how my music has moved them.”
