I was a staff writer in Nashville and escaped with some since of creative uniqueness in tact. They write great songs in Music City but to me anyone could do anyone else's songs. I don't want to be a Buffett clone nor did I ever want to cash in on the Elvis under and overtones in my voice.
I have been happy singing my songs in restaurant/bars for most of my life. The intimacy and the family atmosphere appeal to me.
