Jay Dunphy has been entertaining audiences with his original brand of roots-rock for nearly seven years. Often compared to The Rolling Stones, The Band, Steve Earle and Bob Dylan, his music fuses elements of folk and Americana with a contemporary sound.

His sophomore album, "If Winning is Inevitable. Whats the Point in Playing?", saw Jay Dunphy taking on a more rock-oriented sound than his debut, "Season of the Deadened". Released in the fall of 2005, the album spent two weeks in the top 30 of local college radio station CFUV and made their list of most played local albums for 2005, as well as hitting Top 10 in Lethbridge and Kamloops.

Dunphy has recently released his third album, "Dedicated to No One In Particular." This proves to be his most refined recording to date. With Dunphy at the helm of this project and producer Terry Quiring directing as well as playing many of the parts featured on the album, it's tough to argue this is, at least, Jay's best performances. The album also highlights some local Victoria music celebrities with the likes of Scott Henderson on brass and winds (featured on "Lullaby For Kessiah-Jaye") and recording engineer's Hayden Cyr (www.mindyourselfmusic.com ) and Myke Hall (Last Resort Recording) on Faggot Honey and Lullaby For Kessiah-Jaye respectively.
