JAYDAHMANN

The artist known as Jaydahmann is one like we've never seen before. He is a 'Special' being, one that has realized the power of music, the power of his voice and is using his influence and celebrity in his city to instil hope and direction to the hopeless and mislead. His music mirrors life through his eyes; the life he has seen as a poor child, oppressed teenager and now as a trailblazing advocate for marginalized communities. There is no denying his effectiveness and ability to captivate with his music as he displays the confidence and vivid story-telling of a Jay-Z, the keen penmanship of Nas and the electrifying delivery reminiscent of a younger DMX. Many others have recognized his undeniable talents and thus rewarded him; the release of his very first single in 2008, "Anything" was an instant hit and anthem for the 'discouraged' and stayed on Toronto's Flow 93.5 OTA Live at #1 for several weeks in a row, he has also been honoured by former Toronto Mayor David Miller and had an entire chapter dedicated to his life story in the former Mayor's recently released book on inspirational Torontonians "Witness to a City" and lastly, he is a recent recipient of the 2011 'Local Heroes' award presented by the Canadian Urban Institute. With a name that garners immediate respect in his city and with the city literally backing him, it is clear that Jaydahmann has potential like no other artist coming out of Toronto.
