JAVIE LOPEZ

JAVIE LOPEZ - raised in the Mar Vista area; in the Westside of Los Angeles. As far back as he can remember, his early music influences were, anywhere from, KISS to RUN DMC to ICE-T. He was especially turned onto the pop-locking and break-dancing scene, after he had seen a teenager doing a crazy ass kick-worm, which was three feet off the ground, to George Clintons Atomic Dog. That is when he knew anything to do with music would be his passion.

After this phase had died down he tried several different activities, but the love for music was always there. His older brother was in the DJ scene and Javie soon followed by watching other DJs do their sets. He would soon DJ parties on his own, becoming well known in Los Angeles, especially the Westside. Javie always knew he wanted to produce music, but didnt know where to start. the closest thing he got to producing was to make mixed tapes with a four track; which were heavily influenced by the Dr. Dre, Tony A, and DJ Craze (long time friend and mentor) mixed tapes.

Javie would soon record rap songs made in his friends garage, where he spent most of his day creating music, from records, so his friends could spit rhymes; from time to time he would do the same. Soon after he would learn to work with production equipment such as the MPC 2000, chopping samples and recreating music into his own style.
