Jason Hakin is a Canadian born songwriter from London, Ontario. He has performed extensively in Canada, England and France and has performed live on Durham FM and BBC radio in England. His original material has been played on the CBC, BBC and French radio. In November 2007 Jason released his full length album "Writing Home". His talent as a multi-instrumentalist has resulted in a sound that is highly melodic and instrumentally diverse, gaining comparisons to artists like Ron Sexsmith, Radiohead and Paul McCartney. A few words.

"Jason Hakin has served his time in several London bands, including The Strugglers and The Ace-Tones. He now steps out on his own with his impressive debut CD. Having seen him perform in the aforementioned bands, I knew that he was a fine vocalist and guitarist but Writing Home reveals what a fine songwriter he is. Influenced by Brit bands like Coldplay and, of course, The Beatles (there is some speculation whether he's Paul McCartney's illegitimate son), the songs are uniquely his own, with just a hint of those influences. I enjoyed all the tracks but, "WARM" would be the centrepiece of this CD. It's a beautiful song and a great performance. Recorded by Will Haas at his Willyboy Studios, mention should be made of the fine London musicians who contributed to this CD, including Hass himself, Tim Vail, Kaya Fraser, and Jonathan Davis, just to name a few. This CD took a long time to put together, but it was well worth the wait." - Performance A / Production A - Dave Clarke / SCENE MAGAZINE

"Jason's songs are as memorable, lovely and wistfully melancholy as anything this side of Ron Sexsmith. Startlingly compelling pop." - Bob Klanac / Music Reviewer - Scene Magazine.

"There is multi-level, smart, dreamy pop in these four love songs. Ive been listening to Jason's single WARM over and over." - James Reany, Arts and Entertainment Reporter and Columnist - The London Free Press.

"Jason Hakin embraces melody, whispers in your ear with suggestion leaving a soulmark hungry to want it all again. Wolf at the Window leaves the mark on the glass" - Sue Marchant / BBC Radio Cambridgeshire
