To avoid the tedious questions I receive each day, listed below are some of your frequently asked questions!
(I apologize if I miss any of your questions/comments!)
Q: Did you used to be "And Then I Turned Seven"?
A: Yes.
Q: Why did you change your name?
A: You want the honest truth? It was a really dumb name! (And for those who did like it, it was long and most people didn't understand it-probably cause it has absolutely no meaning though!)
Q: What's the meaning behind the name Jamestown Story?
A: My grandpa used to take me down to this old apple field and read to me from a book called The Jamestown Story so I decided to name the band after that.
Q: Are you the same Dane that played drums for Sing It Loud?
A: Yes, I am the one.
Q: How old are you?
A: I'm 25 in human years, but 176 in dog years. Whichever you prefer.
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: Collect worms, play poker, clean apartments, and listen to earlier Britney Spears records.
Q: Who runs this page?
A: ME! I try to reply back to every message, comment, and friend request. Every now and then I leave for a day or two and can't catch every comment but I do my best to stay on top of them!
Q: So then do you like, uh, do this as your job?
A: Well, yes I do!
Q: Are you like, gonna get signed?
A: Actually, no. I've decided to go the independent route and do everything on my own. It really just makes the most sense for my situation right now.
Q: What's your day like?
A: Well, I usually get up in between 8:00 and 10:00 in the morning and I immediately hop on my computer and start checking emails, myspaces, and various other sites with news/information. After my day is completely up in the air. Sometimes I'll work on new songs, other times I'll record bands, and other times beyond that I'll just stare at the wall. It's a tedious job but someone has to do it.
Q: So then like, how do you make money?
A: Basically through Itunes and CD Sales. When you pick up a song or a CD, you're helping me pay for my electric bill, student loan (such a waste of money!), and/or rent! That's why when I say I really appreciate you picking up a song/CD, I really mean it! Though I don't make millions of dollars, I make enough to be able to do this as my full-time job for the time being and that's a dream itself, so thank you to EVERYONE who has ever bought a CD or songs on Itunes, Napster, Amazon, etc!
Q: When will you be playing in my city?
A: Check our the Myspace/Purevolume pages for upcoming shows. If you don't see your city listed and would like to try and set up a show, please send an email to JamestownStoryBooking@gmail.com!
Q: Will you play my party or graduation?
A: Sure, as long as it has chicken wings :) Email "JamestownStoryBooking@Hotmail.com" and we can work something out!
Q: Is that really the dude from Fallout Boy singing on "You're Going Down?"
A: Actually no it isn't, it's a friend of mine (Ryan Wickard) in a really sick band called "Take Cover." Check out their music at "www.myspace.com/takecoverofficial"
Q: When will you be coming to the U.K?
A: Unfortunately, it costs quite a bit to come out there to tour and I just don't have the money to do so at the time being. I do hope to come out there in the future and play for all you lovely UK folks!
Q: What happened to the other guys that used to play in the band?
A: Sometimes in life people aren't meant to do something they've been doing for awhile, and they need to take the time to find and do what it is they are supposed to do. In Pat's case this means dancing over at Sugar Daddy's on Monday Nights (Amateur Male Dancers Night) and working towards because a full-time professional dancer. Kieren is busy doing Sing It Loud and selling farm equipment. Chad has been concentrating on arranging and producing his very own Yanni tribute band, and Sickboy started his own corn husking company and is now a multi-millionaire.
Q: Do you tour by yourself?
A: Not as of recently as I've added a piano player by the name of Brandyn to tickle the ivories during the set. It's been quite fun!
Q: I've seen you play live and I was wondering: What pedals do you use for your guitar?
A: Well sir, that's a great question. I run my guitar into a Boss Chromatic Tuner, then into a Boss Flanger, then into a Boss Chorus pedal. From there it's run into a Line 6 DD-4 Delay pedal, then through a Boss OC-2 Octave pedal, into a Digitech Jam Man Loop Station, and at last run into a Digitech Delay Pedal. My pedal set up is always changing but I should be using this set up for awhie.
Q: I want to bring you some treats for you to take on tour! What do you like?
A: CHEESE. I accept all forms of cheese (bricks, shredded, slices, cubes, and curds) graciously! I also enjoy Honey Roasted Cashews, Asparagus, and any sort of Blueberry water/juice!
Q: Are you looking for another bassist/drummer/guitarist?
A: Though playing with a full band is fun, I am very content with what I'm doing so I'm not looking for any more members at the moment.
Q: Will you use some of my lyrics in one of your songs?
A: Though I think it's great you're writing lyrics, I normally like to try and write everything myself so I can express the EMO inside me :)
Q: Can you add (insert song name here) to your profile?
A: I have new material coming out so I need to be concentrating on promoting these new songs for the time being. I'll be putting up more of our older song streams on our Purevolume page in the coming months though!
Q: Can I add you to my Top 8/16/24/etc?
A: Of course you can! The email used for this account is andtheniturnedseven@Hotmail.com
Q: Why are all your songs so sad?
A: I'm not exactly sure, they just are.
Q: Do you have guitar tabs or piano chords for any of your songs?
A: Yes I finally do! Go to www.jamestownstorymerch.com and check out the tab book I've put together!
Q: I have tried to message you on AIM but you didn't reply.
A: I do apologize about that. I tend to leave my AIM running on my phone and forget to check it so if don't respond, message me another time/day and I'll definitely say Hello.
Q: Why can't I find your CD in any stores?
A: That's just because they are not in any stores. However, they are available online through the Myspace/Purevolume pages, at www.jamestownstorymerch.com, and through all the major online music retailers like Itunes, Rhapsody, Napster, and Amazon. (Also, if you live in Duluth, MN you can pick up some CD'S at Electric Fetus or Disc-Go-Round!)
PS.If your profile is set to "Private," please add me before sending a message, otherwise I can't respond back you!
